A Journey That Began with a Vintage Tea Trunk

Long before Tea Trunk became a brand, it was a personal collection.

As a child, Snigdha Manchanda developed a fascination for teas from around the world, carefully storing them in her father's vintage trunk. Over the years, that collection grew to include rare teas from countries such as Japan, China, Taiwan, Turkey, Egypt, Kenya, England, and Russia.

Her curiosity eventually led her to study tea professionally. In 2011, she became India's first certified Tea Sommelier, training under renowned Japanese tea master Nao Kumekawa. Immersed in the world of tea tasting, tea gardens, and tea craftsmanship, she sampled thousands of teas and discovered the extraordinary stories hidden within every leaf.

Tea Trunk was born from a desire to share those stories and help people experience tea beyond the everyday cup.
