Xah “চাহ” (Sah,the Assamese word for tea) —  was created to bring India’s finest craft-quality teas back to the people who should have had them first. Built on the belief that exceptional tea should be appreciated for its quality, provenance and flavour, Xah represents a modern Indian tea culture grounded in honesty, craftsmanship and transparency.

Founded in Bengaluru by two lawyers who shared a growing frustration with the modern tea market, Xah emerged in response to an industry where extraordinary Indian teas were celebrated globally, while many local drinkers were left with ordinary blends presented as premium. The brand was born from a simple realisation: some of India’s best teas were easier to find abroad than at home.

At the helm is Kalyani Kulkarni, whose background in law and executive coaching is complemented by a deep passion for tea, conversation and meaningful human connection. Supporting the brand is a council of multi-generational planters and veteran tea tasters from Assam and Nilgiris—experts whose understanding of soil, leaf and season has been shaped over decades of lived experience.
