About Raipur Tea Estate

Nestled in the foothills of the Dhauladhar range in the Kangra Valley, Raipur Tea Estate is a historic Himalayan tea garden with origins dating back to the nineteenth century. Once part of the Nassau Tea Company under Colonel William Nassau Lees and later acquired by the Sud family in 1890, the estate has remained under Indian stewardship for generations. In 2006, a renewed chapter began under Rajiv Kumar Sud with the creation of the brand Himalayan Brew, bringing the teas of Raipur Tea Estate to contemporary audiences. Shaped by cool mountain air, fertile soil and careful cultivation, the estate’s teas are known for their gentle aromatics and distinctive regional character. Today, Raipur Tea Estate continues to carry forward the legacy of Kangra tea, preserving its heritage while presenting its teas with a thoughtful connection to the land and its traditions.
